17th September - SACA Changi Road Race 3 @ Coast Road

Republic Team 1 and 2 with 4 members in each team took part in the 26" MTB category which was a 24km speed race.


Team 1 clinched 3rd place:

Team 2 came in 4th :
Joel
Roy
Miao Wei
Kenneth

It was a very genuine experience for all of us, as it was the first time for the year 1s participating in a race. Well, apart from leg cramps and the numbness we endured,everyone completed the 24km gracefully. Also, we got to envy "super" road bikes that sounded like cars, zooming at 65 - 75 km/h. All in all, lesson learnt from this race: "Focus on the wheel infront of you if you're speeding".

Just to share something with you that I bought just today on our rides. We went touring various bikeshops around eastcoast and I found this nifty device that is no bigger than the palm of most people, and yet, does the job of road repairs that normally would require a small sized tool box.

It is from top peak and and it is called the mini 18+ (it really is mini) cost me $35

It contains allan keys from 2-10mm, a philip and a screw driver, a star screw driver, a tyre lever, 2 spoke wrenches (14 &15g, whatever that means), bottle cap opener (whatever for, dont ask), chain tool (ah, finally, something pratical again!!!), and a flat blade to push back the brake pads of the disc brakes if you dislodged it while removing the tyre (which in my opinion could also be used as the second tyre lever when the need arises). Also, as an added bonous, it comes with a neoprint case which makes it easy for someone to carry one around on the belt (yes there is a belt hoop)

(Highly recomended)

Hi all, Im Nicholas, also commonly known as the person with the camera and the tripod. I do have a picture here of us being at runway cycling at Paya Lebar Airbase which was held earlier this year. I hope you enjoy it =)

Hmm.. we've indeed gone to lots of places and participated in reputable events. Some rides we bled, some rides we crashed in trees, some rides we don't even know how we ended up having sand or even insects in our mouth. =X

Well, recalling the past 3 months since the year 1s, including me, have entered B@R, we have basically biked around the whole of Singapore.

Reputable events includes :
Paya lebar Runway Ride, Ride of Silence , Ride On! , World Bike Trials 2006

Our typical rides organised by our wonderful skippers, Dong Hong and Sian yang includes :
T15 , Lim Chu Kang, Marina , Our own campus, Seletar, Bukit Timah Hill,Changi.


And thanks to our handy mechanic, Yi Feng , who is also the ex-captain of B@R , taught us alot on riding skills and techniques, bike maintainance and also the free washing of bikes at his place. =)

Hi Bikers! ,

As our interest in biking grows, I feel that regonition for our IG should be achieved, thus I have decided to create this blog and input upon our biking adventures !!! As a biking family, I also hope that all of our bikers can stay informed about the rides and not be left out.
